Position: Process Improvement Project Engineer
Summary:
The Process Improvement Project Engineer manages multiple concurrent engineering projects which may involve New Product Introduction (NPI) as well as existing products and processes, working with a cross-functional team and responsible for ensuring on time, on-budget completion of projects focused on improving Tri-Mack product quality and conformance, and process consistency.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

Analyze equipment, systems, and processes to Identify and initiate projects to improve productivity, improve efficiency, increase quality, decrease waste and reduce costs.

Evaluate Tri-Mack Quality standards, controls, specifications and processes. Recommend and implement improvements.

Manage New Product Introduction projects using the established NPI Tollgate process.

Work closely with internal and external customers to ensure that part designs are manufacturable, cost effective and can meet high quality standards.

Design new processes, parts, fixtures and tools using SolidWorks, Cimatron and Moldflow as well as improvements to existing parts.

Collaboratively develop process control plans to meet AS13006, AS13002, and/or customer requirements.

Develop CMM programs, fixture design, and operation instructions as required.

Prepare Engineering masters, including any HighQA detail as needed for any new parts under the NPI umbrella as well as update masters when process improvements are involved.

Utilize Lean and Six Sigma tools to reduce waste and implement robust part and process designs.

Support Production in identifying root cause, and corrective action implementation of ongoing issues.

Participate as a team member with Marketing, Quality Control, Production, Customers and Vendors to accomplish on time and on-budget projects to completion.

Work closely with Quality Control to ensure all parts meet specified drawing requirements.

Inspect and test materials, equipment, processes and products.

Perform process capability assessments as requested.

Employ Design of Experiments, Quality Function Deployment, Process Mapping, Statistical analysis and other tools to facilitate process improvement.

Provide In-process Inspection support and expertise as required.

Develop process control plan improvements as requested.

Lead collaborative RCCA efforts as required.

Analyze Company quality data and propose improvement methods.

Support Tri-Mack, AS9100, NADCAP, customer and regulatory system conformance.

Support quality initiatives, other projects and assignments as directed by the Quality Manager.

Adhere to all ISO 9001 and AS9100 requirements.

Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
